Portable Fire Command Center for the Fires of 2020
In early August, a 600 acre bush fire broke out in Azusa that caused lots to evacuate their homes. The fires kept growing and could not be contained but thankfully was able to redirect them away from civilization or any property. This Ranch Fire started off the fire season we are currently in by having the Ranch Fire 2 followed by the Bobcat Fire which is currently happening right now. When fires this big happen, portable fire command centers are needed to provide a place for fire fighters to rest, eat, shower, etc after days of trying to contain the fire. Because propane is portable, it can be set up anywhere which is why Ted Johnson Propane was called to help provide fuel for this fire camp.
We set up some of our tanks inside of the Santa Fe Dam Regional Park parking lot and supplied propane to Bishop Services to fuel their showers, cooking, hot water and sanitation for the fire fighters to eat, rest, and take a hot shower.
There are lots of different components that are needed in order to efficiently run these portable fire command center. First, of course, the fire fighters who risk their lives for the safety of our Earth and others. In the pictures above, you’ll see what the fire camp looks like and the work they’re doing.
