We are looking for a Fleet Mechanic who loves getting dirty and solving problems!

  • Repairs and maintains company owned propane, gasoline and diesel trucks. Work with the drivers to understand the issue with their vehicle and determine a method for repairing it.

    Maintain inventory of parts for vehicles and keep detailed records of all the vehicles serviced. Keep the shop tidy and organized.

  • Service, repair and maintain all trucks, cars and equipment in the shop and on the road.

    Maintains all vehicle repair and inspections records to State and Federal codes.

    Calibrate and test meters.

    Schedule trucks for outside repair/maintenance.

    Select and maintain relationships with vendors.

    Satisfactorily pass all terminal inspections.

    Assist with new vehicle purchases.

    Perform PM and VK’s.

  • • Advanced knowledge of a vehicle, its electrical system and the mechanisms of a diesel engine

    • In-depth knowledge of diesel engine components and operational mechanisms

    • Superior knowledge of maintenance tools and repair equipment

    • Comfortable using mechanical and electrical power tools

    • Excellent problem-solving skills

    • Keen attention to detail

    • Basic knowledge of computer systems and other relevant electronics

    • Proficiency in the use of diesel engine diagnostic software

    • Good interpersonal skills

    • Effective collaboration and communication skills

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and 10 years related experience with proof of training. Submit any diplomas or certificates you possess including current DMV printout.

  • Ted Johnson Propane pays a competitive wage based on the candidate’s background, education and experience. Starting hourly wage range is between $25 - $27. Ted Johnson Propane offers company-paid health benefits for the employee and his or her dependents, paid vacation, sick & holidays, company sponsored training and employee managed Profit Sharing/401k plan.

    Hours: Monday through Friday 8:00 am – 4:30pm.
