Hide Your Propane Tanks!!

We are currently experiencing a high volume of reported stolen forklift propane tanks. They are in short supply and high demand which is why the rise in theft. Here are a couple of things you can do to protect yourself from theft:

  • Hide your tank rack(s)/propane tank(s) behind a structure not visible from the street

  • Move your tank rack(s)/propane tank(s) to an open air enclosure, such as a trash enclosure

  • Replace your current lock with a theft proof lock

It’s never a good idea to store your propane tank(s) inside a warehouse. In the event a propane tank has a leak the vapors will collect in the warehouse with no place to dissipate. The best place to store your propane tank(s) is always outdoors away from electrical plans or any other source of ignition.
