Check that Washer

Are you having trouble connecting the female coupling (hose) to the valve on your propane tank? Does your tank leak when filling?  Then it could be the washer.

After some use, the flat washers have a tendency to stick inside the female coupling as you disconnect the tank from the forklift.  When that happens, it is impossible to get a positive connectionwith the next tank.

If you are unable to get a positive connection between the forklift and the tank, check inside the female coupling.  A coupling is made of stainless steel and brass.  However, if you see black inside the coupling, you are looking at a lodged-in washer.  To remove it simply hit the coupling in the palm of your hand and it should fall out.  If not, pry it out with a small screwdriver.  Also check to see which forklift coupler (7141M) is now missing a washer, so you can replace it.  Our drivers always carry a supply of washers and o-rings.
